Yesterday Piwakawaka were learning about little blues. They go fishing at noon and in the morning. Mrs Locky said that the penguins only go straight up the beach to nest and that most of the little blue penguins die from dogs and crossing roads. I learnt lots about little blues.

Hi Finnian. I love blue penguins. In Oamaru the little blue penguins build their nests across the main road and for many years, people in Oamaru used to go down to the seafront every morning and and stop the traffic so the penguins could get safely across. A few years ago the council built under the road for the penguins. If you are ever down there with mum and dad you should visit the little blue penguin colony .
